We are underway on the second night of the Island Soccer League with the Royal getting us underway. Adrian Burrows has made a save to deny the Storm the lead, first diving to his right to save a Raymond Burgess shot, but Burrows could do nothing to stop Corey Dowling from scoring from some 15 yards out. Ernest Signor came close to equalizing for the Royal but his shot was saved off the line by Storm defender Dennis Eve. Antoine Russell has doubled the Storm lead. Russell was brought down by Burrows resulting in a shoot out, and Russell stepped up and put the chance away. At the end of the first quarter the score remains Royal 0 Storm 2.
Two minutes into the second quarter, Sergio Goater has pulled a goal back for the Royal. Goater beat the Storm goalkeeper Marcel Dill with a low shot to his right. Kevin Lambe has scored to put the Storm up 3 – 1. Lambe’s shot from close range went in off a defender. The second period has come to an end with the score Royal 1 Storm 3.
Meshach Wade has scored for the Royal to make the score 3 – 2, a mistake by Storm captain Keith Jennings allowed WadeRoyal keeper Burrows committed a foul in the box resulting in a penalty kick. Russell stepped up to take the kick, but Burrows saved to his right. The Royal’s went straight up the field and equalized through Tafari Outerbridge. Outerbridge hit a right footed shot that gave Dill in the Storm goal no chance. The game is all tied at the end of the third quarter.
Keith Jennings as put the Storm ahead 4 – 3, one minute later Jemeiko Jennings equalized for the Royal. With nine minutes to go in the game the score is now 4 – 4. Meshach Wade has put the Royal ahead 5 – 4, when he scored from close range. The Storm hold on for the rest of the game to record the victory.
