The Bermuda Football Association’s (BFA) Competition Committee has decided the outcome of the two abandoned Premier Division matches that ended early on Sunday, November 22nd, 2020, due to waterlogged pitches.
The Dandy Town Hornets were deadlocked at 0 – 0, with the St. George’s Colts at the BAA Field, while the North Village held a 2 – 1 lead over the Somerset Eagles at the Bernard Park.
The Committee has ruled in accordance with the General Rules for Divisional Competitions Article 2 which states:
“(o) In the event of a match being abandoned owing to causes over which neither club has control, the Competitions Committee shall review the causes of abandonment and make its ruling on the outcome of the match in accordance with the following:
“(i) If a match is abandoned before the completion of the first half, during the half-time interval or up to 75 minutes of play the match shall be replayed in its entirety.
“(ii) If a match is abandoned after 75 minutes the Committee shall rule only in cases where it is to the advantage of the Competition and shall record the score at the time of the abandonment as final. In all other cases, the match shall be replayed
The Committee has ruled that the match between the Dandy Town Hornets and the St. George’s Colts, which was abandoned in the 83rd minute, a score of 0-0 shall be recorded.
The match between the North Village Rams and the Somerset Eagles was abandoned in the 74th minute of the match, and the Competition’s Committee has ruled that the match will be rescheduled to a later date, yet to be confirmed.
