An Alex Addai double helped Jonte Smith and his Cheltenham Town teammates progress through to the next round of the Gloucestershire Senior Cup at Slimbridge.
Captain for the night Addai struck twice in the second half to help a mixed Cheltenham side made up of first team and youth team players to a 2-1 win over their Southern League Division One South opponents Slimbridge.
Sol Wanjua-Smith's free kick right at the end halved the deficit for Slimbridge, but it was too little too late for any sort of dramatic stoppage time comeback.
Recent signing Smith powered a shot over the target after being slipped in by second year scholar Aaron Basford just before the interval.
With Cheltenham up 1 – 0, Smith looked to join his strike partner on the scoresheet but saw his right-footed hit from a fine Dan Bowry pass on 59 minutes go wide.
