WELLS & LAMBE SCORE, WHILE BUTTERFIELD & SCOTT GO DOWN
NAHKI WELLS
Nahki Wells was delighted to get ‘back up and running’ for QPR in tonight’s dramatic Carabao Cup victory over Bristol City.
Wells drew his team level at 1-1 with a brilliant strike on 15 minutes and, late on, won the spot-kick that Ryan Manning dispatched to force the tie to a penalty shootout.
Rangers went on to win the shootout 5-4, with Wells making no mistake from the spot, and afterwards he told www.qpr.co.uk that he was thrilled to be back amongst the goals.
REGGIE LAMBE
Reggie Lambe and his Cambridge United teammates came out with a memorable 4-5 win on penalties against Brentford at Griffin Park, to progress into the second round of the Carabao Cup and set up a tie with Swansea City later in the month.
United showed superb composure in the shoot-out, with Luke Hannant, Lambe, Harrison Dunk, Harry Darling and finally Harvey Knibbs netting as Callum Burton saved twice to secure their progression into the next round.
MILAN BUTTERFIELD & KNORY SCOTT
Milan Butterfield started and Knory Scott was an unused substitute as Kidderminster suffered a 3-2 home defeat to Gloucester City despite taking an early lead at Aggborough.
