NAHKI WELLS

Nahki Wells’ teammate Chris Wood continued his 100% pre-season record as Burnley came from behind to win at Vale Park.

The New Zealand striker struck early in the second half to make it five goals in three games and cancel out Tom Pope’s first half opener, before late goals from Matej Vydra and Robbie Brady rewarded a much improved second half for the visitors.

Wells was an unused substitute.

NATHAN TROTT

Nathan Trott and his AFC Wimbledon teammates failed to make the most of superior possession and chances, as they concluded the trip to La Manga with a defeat against Plymouth Argyle.

The Dons suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Argyle with the League 2 side scoring fine first-half goals from Danny Mayor and Joel Grant who both beat trot in goal.

REGGIE LAMBE

Reggie Lambe and his Cambridge United teammates completed a productive pre-season tour in Scotland with a 3 - 2 victory against Heart of Midlothian at Tynecastle Park.

Paul Lewis scored in the first half for the U’s, before Liam O’Neil and a trialist added to the scoreline after the break as United’s preparations for the 2019/20 continue to progress well.

DANTE LEVEROCK

With Dante Leverock missing from the team due to suspension the Sligo Rovers fell 3 – 0 to Derry City.

MILAN BUTTERFIELD & KNORY SCOTT

Milan Butterfield, Knory Scott and their Kidderminster Harriers teammates lost out by a single goal to Bromsgrove Sporting in a competitive pre-season friendly.

OSAGI BASCOME & JUSTIN DONAWA

Osagi Bascome, Justin Donawa and their Darlington teammates were wondering how they'd managed to lose this game against Halifax at Blackwell Meadows.

Darlington took the lead after just 5 minutes with a delightful goal, which typified the flowing football that the team has been playing this season.

Darlington were forced into a change when David Atkinson limped off and was replaced by Bascome.

Down 2 – 1 Darlington twice went close to regaining the lead before half time. Donawa made a good run to the edge of the box, and struck a low shot that Halifax keeper Johnson saved at full stretch.

A low shot by Donawa was deflected, but the keeper just managed to turn the ball around the post, then Bascombe smacked a shot against the bar.
