In keeping with his promise, businessman Zane Desilva presented a cheque in the sum of 50,000.00 to the Bermuda Football Association and members of the Bermuda Men’s National team that finished 11th overall in the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament.
The Bermuda team became the talk of the Tournament after many in the Press realized that not the entire team was Professional and that we have no Professional League in Bermuda.
Many were stunned by the performance of the Bermuda team in the Group Stage falling 2 – 1 to Haiti, 2 – 1 to Costa Rica and then they defeated Nicaragua 2 – 0 in their Final Group match.
