Bermuda's Men's Team Head to Curacao Today

IslandStats.com
Bermuda’s Men’s National team have finished their Training Camp in Florida and will head to Curacao today ahead of their Nations Cup opener against Aruba.

Bermuda have been in Florida since they departed Bermuda and have put in the work, with all reports that everyone is healthy and ready if called upon.

Meanwhile Joe Dunne admits he’s gutted to be losing Reggie Lambe to international duty just as the winger was starting to find some form for Cambridge United.

The summer signing from Carlisle United will miss Saturday’s clash against his former club at The Abbey as he turns out for Bermuda against Aruba in a CONCACAF Nations League qualifier.

Lambe showed glimpses of his potential during pre-season, but truly started to realize it this week when he followed a strong performance at Stevenage with his first full U’s goal at Southend.

“Reggie goes away on international duty now, which is disappointing because he got himself a goal and was really good on Saturday,” said U’s boss Dunne following the Checkatrade Trophy loss at Southend.

“He will miss this Saturday against Carlisle, and hopefully he will be back unscathed. It’s another setback for us really, so we’ll have to take a look now at how we rejig the team for Saturday.

“He’s had two games now where he’s scored in one and had a really good game in the other, so just as we’re getting the Reggie Lambe we signed back we’re going to lose him. It’s a bit of a pain, but we just want him back fit and up for selection against Colchester.”

Lambe actually delayed flying out to Florida to meet up with the Bermuda team so he could feature at Southend, where he opened the scoring with a header from Jevani Brown’s cross before the Shrimpers came back to win 3-1.
