Nathan Trott and his West Ham United Under 23 teammates defeated Tottenham in Premier League 2 action at The Lamex Stadium.
The home side went in front in the 6th minute when a corner ends up being cleared, but falls to Samuel Shashoua. The midfielder took aim, and found the net via a curling effort that went in off the post beating Trott.
Trott in the 25th minute made a fine save from a Tottenham corner, as an effort almost looped over the shot-stopper. Trott got a strong hand up though, and gets the ball away.
West Ham were level in the 42nd minute, debutant Xande Silva found the back of the net with a powerful strike.
One minute into the second half West Ham took the lead, straight from kick-off, West Ham pile forward. Josh Cullen linked with Xande Silva and the forward skips past a tackle. He was all alone in front of the goalkeeper and coolly dispatched his shot.
West ham would move 3 – 1 ahead in the 49th minute as Xande Silva bagged his hattick. Exceptional play from the young forward, who found the net with a powerful strike from a narrow angle.
With less than ten minutes to go Tottenham forced Trott into a save to keep the score at 3 - 1.
