Nathan Trott and his West Ham United teammates kicked-off the 2018/19 Pre-Season with a 3-2 defeat at the Stadion Schutzenwiese against FC Winterthur.
In the25th minute Winterthur went ahead, a cross came into the penalty area, where Calla has stolen a yard on Masuaku and heads powerfully and high into Adrian's top-left hand corner.
In the 33rd minute the score was level as West Ham broke with Fernandes getting in down the right channel. He cut back rolled through the six-yard box, eluding Spiegel and his defenders, and Carroll could not miss from a yard out.
Six minutes later and after hardly touching the ball for five minutes, Winterthur were back in front. Granit Lekaj clips a ball over the West Ham defense and Manuel Sutter kept his head to prod under the advancing Adrian.
The second half saw West Ham United change their entire starting XI, with Nathan Trott going in goal.
In the 74th minute it was 3-1 to Winterthur as substitute striker Gele got away inside the penalty area and slides a shot under Trott with his left foot. Good, composed finish from the Frenchman, who once had a trial with Bradford City.
West Ham United would pull a goal back in the 84th minute, as Noble stepped up and slammed the ball into the net as Milosavljevic dives out of the way obligingly. It's 3-2 to Winterthur with six minutes remaining, but the visitors were unable to score thus coming up short.
In searing heat and bright sunshine at the Premier Plus Stadium, Reggie Lambe and his Cambridge United teammates took on St Neots Town, both teams began their preseason schedules in impressive manner.
Lambe and his teammates would walk away with a comfortable 7 – 1 win, with Lambe playing the first half.
Willie Clemons took to the field for Bodens BK in their 0 – 0 draw with IFK Luleĺ in their second derby of the season.
