The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) announced applications are now being accepted for its Legends Scholarships 2018.
Bermuda will recall Taznae Fubler, Sideya Dill and Keunna Dill were all awarded the two-year award in 2017.
The 2018 Legends were unveiled at the BFA Awards Ceremony held on April 20th at the BUEI.
The 2018 Legends are:
Lorenzo Symonds - A former captain of the Bermuda National Team who distinguished himself as a cultured center back with the Devonshire Colts.
Dennis Wainwright MBE - He is remembered for his excellence in both National Sports of football and cricket. In football, he was an outstanding goalkeeper playing for the likes of Wellington Rovers and Young Men’s Social Club.
Dr. Lew Simmons - More recently known for his work in the Ministry of Education; excelled as a goalkeeper for Howard University in Washington DC, his beloved Somerset Trojans and the Bermuda National Team.
Carlyle Crockwell Sr. - A consummate referee who went about his task professionally; culminating with his appointment as a FIFA listed referee. He was small in stature but stood large in the refereeing fraternity.
John Nusum - Played many years as a professional in North America most notable indoor soccer where he made 54 appearances with the New York Arrows. He returned to Bermuda to play for several teams including the PHC Zebras and Hamilton Parish Workman’s Club.
Applications can be downloaded from the BFA Website (www.bermudafa.com) or collected from the BFA’s Clyde Best Center of Excellence. The deadline for applications is June 15th 2018.
