Yesterday we reported the news that the Bermuda Football Association had received information that Tashun Simons was added to the FIFA Referee Assistance List for 2018.
www.islandstats.com got the chance to speak with Simons about the journey.
Simons said, “ From the beginning I knew this was a road that was going to be long and hard, coming from a small island that hadn’t had anyone on the FIFA List in over a decade, the odds were always stacked against me... Football isn’t just a sport it’s a passion you have to eat, sleep and breathe it to accomplish your dreams... Every time I failed I learnt from the experience to now stand here and tell you, I have bridged the gap BERMUDA NOW HAS A FIFA LISTED OFFICIAL.”
