The PHC Zebras have advanced to the Dudley Eve Final for a third consecutive year after they twice came from behind to defeat Robin Hood 3 – 2.
After a scoreless first half, Lejuan Simmons gave Robin Hood the lead in the 64th minute, Simmons would connect from close range after good work between Antwan Russell and Mahzye Burchall, but ten minutes later the score was level when Cecoy Robinson scored from the penalty spot. Neither team could find the back of the net for the remainder of regulation time.
With one minute remaining in the first period of Extra Time, Dante Leverock was on hand to score for Robin Hood from close range, but yet again the PHC Zebras would fight back, Keishon Bean would score a right footed shot from inside the box in the 112th minute and then four minutes later Na’eem Griffith blasted the home to earn the PHC Zebras the win.
North Village Rams 2 (4) Devonshire Cougars 2 (5) After Extra Time & Kicks from the Penalty Mark
This game also needed extra time and more to decide a winner, the defending champions Devonshire Cougars advanced to the Final after defeating the North Village Rams 5 – 4 on the dreaded Kicks from the Penalty Mark.
During regulation time the North Village Rams went ahead in the 16th minute when Shayne Hollis found the back of the net, but Machi Battersbee equalized for the Devonshire Cougars in the 21st minute.
The teams went to the break level at 1 – 1, but in the 63rd minute first half substitute Mark Steede broke the deadlock giving the Devonshire Cougars the lead only to have Jonathan Briers equalized scoring a header from a North Village Rams set piece.
After thirty minutes and the deadlock could not be broken the Devonshire Cougars held their nerve and have advanced to meet the team they defeated in the Final a year ago.
