Freddy Hall and his Limerick Football Club teammates won their SSE Airtricity Premier Division season opener defeating Sligo Rovers 5 - 1 at the Markets Field.
Hall was unfortunate not to record a shutout, but Limerick with a hattrick from Rodrigo Tosi, with single goals from Ian Turner and Lee Lynch earned them the win and top of the table on goal difference.
Hall was called into action in the 14th minute when he tipped the ball over the crossbar earning Sligo a corner that Hall picking it out of the air.
Down 3 - 0 Sligo pull one back through substitute Matthew Stevens, some good pressure from Sligo in the lead up to the goal. Hall was able to block an initial shot but the rebound fell nicely into the path of Stevens who made no mistake.
