PREMIER DIVISION

Flanagan’s Onions 1 Devonshire Cougars 2

At the BAA Field, the Devonshire Cougars came away with 3 valuable points following their 2 - 1 victory over the Flanagan’s Onions.

The match began with good energy but not many clear goal opportunities with both teams defending well and the goalkeepers remaining alert.

The first half ended scoreless, in the opening of the second half poor passing allowed the Flanagan’s Onions to win the ball, carry it down the left flank and cross into the box due to slack defending. Treshun Smith sliced the ball into the top right corner of Devonshire Cougars young, second string keeper, Xyon Outerbridge-Smith.

The Flanagan’s Onions goal jolted the Devonshire Cougars into action, an all out attack saw defenders from the Flanagan’s Onions too slow to clear the ball and allowed substitute, Henry Stevens Carty to take an on target shot which was deflected into Cashun Brangman's path. Brangman tapped it in levelling the score 1-1.

Devonshire Cougars Centerhalf, Zekiro White, made a surging run up the centre of the field through three Flanagan’s Onions defenders after collecting a cleared ball. Onions bungled the defense allowing the ball to drop into White's path. White made sure work in the box shooting hard into the back of the net.
