Nahki Wells scored for the first time since October as Huddersfield clinched a first victory in six matches with a 2-1 victory over Bristol City.
The Bermudian striker, who has been linked with a January move away from the John Smith's Stadium, scored his fourth goal of the season to get town back to winning ways.
The early-season pacesetters had slipped down the Championship table after a run of just one win in eight matches.
Wells cashed in on a mistake by goalkeeper Frank Fielding to give Town the three points.
Korey Smith's back pass was too strong and Fielding miscontrolled with Wells lurking.
Wells stole the ball and rounded Fielding before stroking into an empty net to give Huddersfield a much-needed lift.
RAI SIMONS
Play-off contenders Peterborough brought Rai Simons and his Chesterfield teammates revival to a halt with a 5-2 victory on an afternoon of spectacular goals.
Simons started the match but went off in the 67th minute with his team down 4 - 2 at the time.
REGGIE LAMBE
Luton were held to a 1-1 draw by fellow promotion chasers Carlisle, who finished the match with 10 men. Reggie Lambe came on in the 34th minute replacing an injured Michael Jones.
The visitors were ahead with the first attack, Shaun Miller's header spilled by Christian Walton and Jason Kennedy tapping home on five minutes.
However, Luton levelled on 10 minutes, Jack Marriott crossing for Danny Hylton to score his 14th of the season.
JONTE SMITH
