Jonte Smith - Welling United

After seven goals in the F.A. Cup, Jonte Smith and his Welling United teammates followed up with another six in the Kent Reliance Senior Cup at Chatham Town.

Patrick Lee, the Chatham Town goalkeeper, was busy immediately and made four fine saves in the opening minutes.

Dan Walker opened the scoring with a low shot into the bottom corner in the fifth minute.

Almost immediately, Junior Kaffo had an opportunity for Chatham Town but fired wide.

Lyle Della-Verde tested Lee again after Dan Walker had struck the post but it wasn’t all one way traffic. Chatham Town’s Ryan Flack tried his luck with a low shot across goal but soon after Welling and Walker added a second.

Josh Jackson has been playing for Chatham on dual registration but it didn’t stop him creating a third for Welling, finished by Smith.

Flack was instrumental in Chatham reducing the arrears. He collected a cross field ball and when his path to goal was cut off he played it back for Ross Morley to fire into the top corner from twenty yards.

Chris Lewington then made an excellent save from Jerald Aboagye before Walker trumped Morley’s claim for best goal of the game when his perfect lob gave Lee no chance.

Smith was replaced at the break with Dan Osbourne, coming on as substitute.

Dean Morgan had a free kick beaten out by Lee but he recovered quickly as Walker looked to pounce on the follow up.

Lee made another save, this time from Osbourne following excellent work by Archie Johnson.

Chatham were reduced to ten when Freeman Rogers crashed into the post causing bad facial injuries. They did not have another available substitute so were left short handed.

Delle-Verde made the most of the extra space by scoring Welling’s fifth. Then Jackson opened his Welling account with a fine solo effort.

David Jones & Jaylon Bather - Ilkeston and Roger Lee - Corby Town

Ben Morris’s stoppage time winner gave Jaylon Bather, David Jones and their Ilkeston teammates their second win of the season in a wonderful comeback at Steel Park in a huge bottom of the table clash against Roger Lee’s Corby Town.

Ilkeston made changes from the 1-0 defeat to Rushall with Malachi Lavelle-Moore leading the attack. Ben Morris, Luis Rose and Danny Gordon all started, Jak Kenworthy returned.

Bather and Jones watched from the bench for Ilkeston, while Lee watched from the Corby Town bench.
