Bermuda Football Association President Larry Mussenden not to the surprise of many has had the office send out a letter indicating that he - will not seek re-election – at the upcoming Annual Congress Meeting on September 29th.
In a letter which was sent to all clubs President Mussenden said, “I have had the honour of serving you as the President of the Bermuda Football Association for many years during two terms. My current term will end on September 29th at the Annual Congress Meeting. I have decided that u will not seek re-election at the Congress. It is both time for me to move on and for a new President with fresh ideas and new energy for all.
I look forward to seeing you at the Congress meeting and I look forward to the election of a new President – no doubt an excellent candidate from out football family.
It has been a huge honour for me to serve you from attending games at your fields, supporting your clubs, supporting out National teams in International competition, participating in meetings, developing the Clyde Best BFA Center of Excellence, representing the BFA in Bermuda and overseas, working to get the BFA Executive members on international appointments, developing our social media platforms and simply having fun in the name of football. It has been hard work but quite enjoyable too.
Generally, I will be available to the BFA and clubs as necessary. Once again, many thanks for the honour and your confidence in me to be your President.”
