Bermuda English Footballers Round Up

NAHKI WELLS

Rajiv van La Parra scored against his former club to keep Huddersfield top of the Championship with a 1-0 home win over Wolves.

The Dutch winger, signed from Molineux for £750,000 in the summer following a loan spell, struck after just six minutes to make it four wins in the first five games for Town.

Kasey Palmer broke forward to put Nahki Wells through the center of the Wolves defense and last season's 18-goal top-scorer beat Carl Ikeme only for the ball to strike the outside of the far post. Van La Parra, following up, fired into the bottom-left corner in front of the travelling Wolves fans for his first goal for the club.

RAI SIMONS

Three first half goals gave Millwall a lead that turned out to be unassailable as Chesterfield fell to a 3-1 Proact defeat.

Rai Simons was an unused substitute as Chesterfield had opened brightly but were hit on the break when Shane Ferguson gave the visitors the lead, the advantage than tripled before half time by two Steve Morison goals.

Sam Hird pulled a goal back for Chesterfield after the break, but they were unable to edge any closer as they lost at home for the first time this season.

KACY MILAN BUTTERFIELD – Walsall

Kacy Milan Butterfield was not in the Walsall team who had to settle for a point after squandering a three-goal lead to draw against battling Bury.

First-half strikes from Kieron Morris, Erhun Oztumer and Simeon Jackson gave the Walsall a seemingly unassailable half-time advantage.

But the visitors rallied after the break, with three goals in 21 minutes from Leon Barnett, James Vaughan and Danny Mayor earning the Shakers a draw.

REGGIE LAMBE

Reggie Lambe and his Carlisle United teammates produced yet another strong performance with their first away win of the season as their impressive unbeaten start to the campaign continues.

The sides exchanged early set pieces in the blistering heat but keepers came out on top as they closely watched the balls into their box.

It was Carlisle who looked the most likely and they deservedly took the lead midway through the half when Nicky Adams controlled the ball and his whipped cross left Jabo Ibehre with the happy task of crunching it into the back of the net to register his first goal of the campaign.
