Both teams pressed early, but the City Islanders went close in the 10th minute when Bobby Warshaw hit the crossbar, and Leverock’s rebound effort was saved by Louisville goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh.
The visitors took the lead 11 minutes later, however, when Jose Barril curled home a fine finish into the right corner of the net.
Louisville’s Cameron Lancaster shot just wide before the halftime break, but Paolo DelPiccolo tied the game 11 minutes into the second half after City Islanders goalkeeper Keasel Broome had tipped a free kick by Lancaster onto the crossbar, only for DelPiccolo to turn home the rebound.
Louisville continued to control the game in the final half-hour, but was unable to find a breakthrough as the City Islanders held on.
