Limerick set down an early warning to their First Division rivals by tying down goalkeeper Freddy Hall on a two-year contract.
The Bermuda international played an integral role in the late-season form that saw the club win eight of their final 12 matches before cruelly being relegated in a play-off against Finn Harps.
Former Toronto FC and Northampton Town goalkeeper Hall joined Limerick in July following a spell with English side AFC Telford.
Hall's calming influence behind an inexperienced back four saw him crowned the club's Player of the Month for September, and he was on the radar of a number of Premier Division clubs before opting to continue at the Markers Field.
“It feels good to be staying on,” Hall told the club's website.
“We did well in the second half of the season and we feel there is unfinished business, especially after the way it ended.
“My agents, advisors and I talked about it and I wanted to stay here more than anything. I had other offers but I have really enjoyed my time here.
“It’s a good group and working with Eddie (Hickey – goalkeeping coach) has been really enjoyable.
“The run we went on was amazing. People couldn’t have thought we would do that. We put in so much hard work and we were gutted we couldn’t complete the job in the end.
“The supporters have been unbelievable. The Markets Field has been great for us and the support we had there and away from home was tremendous. We can’t take that for granted.”
“We want to bounce back straight away. That’s what we are aiming to do; we gelled well and if we can keep the core group together then I think we are well capable of doing it.”
