Wells & Lambe's Team's Go Down - Simons' Team Wins

IslandStats.com
NAHKI WELLS

Andre Gray's first-half double helped Burnley to a 2-1 win over Nahki Wells and his Huddersfield Town teammates at Turf Moor.

Gray's fifth strike in Burnley colors from the spot handed them an early lead before he added another just before the break. Michael Duff put through his own net late on to halve the deficit.

Huddersfield had a golden chance to grab one back 15 minutes before the end when Jamie Paterson's lobbed ball found substitute Wells, but the Town striker blasted over with the goal gaping.

Wells did better moments later when he turned on the edge of the area and drew a decent save from Heaton.

As Huddersfield still pressed, Emyr Huws collected a loose ball on the edge of the area and fired at Heaton, with the stopper parrying the 82nd-minute effort to safety.

But from Town substitute Kyle Dempsey's low cross, Clarets skipper Duff put the ball past a helpless Heaton to give Huddersfield late hope.

RAI SIMONS

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake pounced from barely a yard to bag Chesterfield a 1-0 victory over struggling Fleetwood in Sky Bet League One.

Rai Simons playing in a starting role and his Chesterfield teammates dominated much of the first half but it took them half an hour to break the deadlock.

Sam Herd forged a path down the right and, after his cross was casually headed against his own bar by home defender Dionatan Teixeira, Ebanks-Blake mopped up the rebound from close range.

REGGIE LAMBE

A goal in either half secured a 2-0 win for Wycombe to ruin Adam Murray's 50th game in charge of Reggie Lambe and his Mansfield Town teammates.

Luke O'Nein headed home from close range on eight minutes, before Aaron Amadi-Holloway wrapped up the points in injury time.

Goalkeeper Matt Ingram pulled off a number of key saves throughout as Wanderers secured their first win in five Sky Bet League 2 games.

Wycombe hit the front through O'Nein against the run of play after he found space in the box.

Craig Westcarr, Blair Adams and Lambe all wasted first-half chances for Mansfield.

Ingram saved well from Lee Collins a minute after the restart, before Sam Wood and Garry Thompson wasted good chances on the break.

Adi Yussuf tamely fired straight at Ingram, before Green shot high and wide as Mansfield wasted more chances.

The inspired Ingram then pulled off two more fine saves in the closing stages to deny Nathan Thomas.

Amadi-Holloway coolly doubled Wycombe's lead in stoppage time after a pin-point pass by Matt Bloomfield.
