Dutch winger Tjaronn Chery proved there may be life in QPR's promotion challenge without their big name stars after a 1-0 win at Nahki Wells Huddersfield.
Rangers had been firing blanks up to Chery's 84th-minute winner and even £15 million-rated Charlie Austin struggled for chances.
Wells played 80 minutes before being replaced by Mustapha Carayol.
