Former Bermuda Football Association Treasurer - Andrew Griffith has accepted an invitation to be re-appointed on the CONCACAF Audit and Compliance Committee.
CONCACAF is the 41 country regional confederation of FIFA that encompasses North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
Griffith did not submit himself for nomination for re-election as Treasurer of the BFA at the last AGM in September 2014, he has represented Bermuda at various meetings of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), CONCACAF and FIFA Congresses over the many years. Additionally, he previously met with FIFA Officials at annual meetings to present the audits of the funds granted to the BFA by FIFA.
Griffith led the way for the independent audits of the BFA to be prepared in a timely manner and presented to the BFA Congress and public.
Griffith is a Chartered Professional Accountant and is the Chief Financial Officer of a local group of companies and oversees many Financial Controllers within the group.
Griffith is expected to attend the next CONCACAF Audit Committee meeting in mid-February.
The Audit and Compliance Committee shall ensure the completeness and reliability of the financial accounting, recommend the appointment of external auditors to the Executive Committee; review the external auditors’ report at the request of the Executive Committee; and, assess and provide recommendations on CONCACAF’s internal control systems and risk management policies.
