Shield & Friendship Trophy Quarter-Finals Round Up

SHIELD QUARTER-FINAL

Devonshire Colts 4 Wolves 0


At the Devonshire Rec. the Devonshire Colts advanced to the Shield Semi-Finals with a 4 – 0 win over Wolves. The Devonshire Colts got two goals from Kyle Jones and single strikes from Teniko Eve and Lozendro Symonds in the win.

St. David’s 0 BAA 5

BAA scored six unanswered goals to earn a 6 – 0 win over St. David’s at the BAA Field and put their name in the draw for the Semi-Finals. Morricko Iris scored twice in the 45th and 63rd minutes, while Marcus Ming also scored twice in the 73rd and 90th minutes, Troy Tucker scored in the 70th and Tyrico Williams scored in the 86th minute.

Ireland Rangers 0 Young Men Social Club 7

Young Men Social Club defeated Ireland Rangers 7 – 0 at the Somerset Cricket Club. Young Men Social Club got hat-tricks from Phillip Mallory and Saki Tuzo, while McLee Smith scored the other.

X-Road’s 0 Somerset Eagles 1

After a scoreless first half at the St. John's Field, Kanhai Fray scored the lone goal in the 65th minute to earn the Somerset Eagles a 1 – 0 win over X-Road’s.

FRIENDSHIP QUARTER-FINALS

Devonshire Cougars 2 (2) PHC Zebras 2 (4) – AFTER EXTRA TIME & KICKS FROM THE PENALTY MARK


After a scoreless first half at the Devonshire Rec. Cecoy Robinson gave the PHC Zebras the lead in the 74th minute, but Derrick Brangman would draw the Devonshire Cougars level six minutes later, neither team would find the back of the net again in regulation sending the game into Extra-Time. In the first period of Extra-Time Kadeem Abraham put the PHC Zebras back in front, but in the second period of Extra-Time the Devonshire Cougars drew level yet again, this time it was Drewonde Bascome finding the back of the net. The match would have to be settled with kicks from the Penalty Mark with the PHC Zebras emerging victorious 4 – 2.

Dandy Town Hornets 6 St. George’s Colts 0

The Dandy Town Hornets advanced to the Friendship Trophy Semi-Finals with a 6 – 0 win over the St. George’s Colts. Jahtino Richardson-Martin gave the Dandy Town Hornets the lead in the 24th minute, Angelo Simmons doubled the lead in the 35th minute, as the Dandy Town Hornets took a 2 – 0 lead into the half time break. Richardson-Martin made it 3 – 0 with a goal in the 51st minute and then 11 minutes later he completed his hat-trick. Temiko Wilson scored in the 77th minute to make the score 5 – 0 and Rieko Trott closed out the scoring with a goal in the 81st minute.

Robin Hood 3 Flanagan’s Onions 2

At the BAA Field, Antwan Russell scored twice and Tevahn Tyrell added the other as Robin Hood defeated the Flanagan’s Onions 3 – 2. Robin Hood held a 3 – 0 lead at the half time break, but goals from Nathan Peskett and Vincent Minors pulled the Flanagan’s Onions within one , but Robin Hood was able to hold on to advance to the Semi-Finals.

Somerset Trojans 1 Southampton Rangers 0 – AFTER EXTRA TIME

At the Somerset Cricket Club, the Somerset Trojans and the Southampton Rangers battled to a scoreless draw after regulation time, the match went into the Extra Time period, were Malachi Jones scored in the 110th minute to earn the Somerset Trojans a 1 – 0 win a spot in the Friendship Trophy Semi-Finals.
