Wells & Huddersfield Draw Reading in FA Cup

IslandStats.com
Nahki Wells and his Huddersfield Town teammates will host Championship rivals Reading in the Third Round of the English FA Challenge Cup.

The tie, which will take place January 4th, was the 13th of the 32 pairings made at The Deep aquarium in Hull.

Town will be aiming to make the fourth round for the third season running and the fourth time in five years.

Boss Chris Powell took Charlton Athletic to last season’s Quarter-Finals, beating Town en route, before losing 2-0 at Sheffield United.

Town, then under the caretaker managership of Mark Lillis, gained their first win of the season at Reading in August with a 2-1 success.

Jacob Butterfield and Harry Bunn put Huddersfield into a two-goal lead before Simon Cox replied for the hosts, but Town held on for all three points at the Madejski Stadium.

The return league game takes place at the John Smith’s Stadium on February 24th.

Reading, in 14th, are a place and a point above Town in the Championship table.

It will be the second time the pair have clashed in the FA Cup.

In the third round back in 1985-86, a 0-0 draw at Leeds Road was followed by a 2-1 Reading replay victory at Elm Park.
