Corona League President Mike McGrath announced the 2014-15 League Season Schedule, “Another exciting season awaits us and all the teams are itching to start on a new campaign.”
All 10 teams have signed up for the new season, giving us a line up of:
BAA Wanderers FC B&V United FC Flanagan’s Onion’s FC Lobster Pot F.C. Lock & Key FC North Village Rams Robin Hood FC Tuff Dogs Sports Club Vasco Da Gama West End United
McGrath went on to say, “This exciting new season will start with the Coronita Charity Shield on Friday September 26th warming us all up for the much anticipated start of the league which kicks off on Friday October 3rd with all the teams wanting to see if their pre seasons have paid off.
”We have a break for Christmas and with the Bistro Challenge Cup rounds filtered into the schedule the league continues until March 14th which will give us the 6th name to be engraved on to the Corona League Trophy and we all hope it goes right down to the wire as it did last season.
The game times will be the same as last season with Friday games kicking off at 6.30pm and 8.30pm and Saturdays 2pm, 4pm and 6pm
The Corona league has always been a family affair and that's true even for our sponsors as Corona has brought its little brother Coronita to the party to sponsor this seasons Charity Shield game so we can continue to give back to the community with entertaining football for the family to spectate as well as financially to charity.
The Coronita Charity match will feature the Corona League Champions Tuff Dogs and the Challenge Cup Champions North Village Rams, the match kicks off the 7pm at BAA Field.
We have retained the transfer window for the Corona League which allows players that have already played in the league to move from any top half table team to any lower half table team. Refreshing the league midway through the season and strengthen the lower sides. The window will be open for the 1st 2 weeks in January and peaks the interest for the start of 2015
In closing I would like to thank the board members for all the hard work they do and time they donate to make the league work. As well as a big thank you to all of our sponsors who support us and have shown us such faith in the league over the last 4 years. Working together we have managed to create such an enjoyable league for the players and community. I would especially like to thank Corona, Goslings and Charles Gosling.”
