Wells Targets 25 Goals for 2014/15

IslandStats.com
Nahki Wells has set a target for himself in this upcoming season.

According to the report in the Examiner, “Wells is setting his sights high “at least” 25 goals as he prepares for his first full Championship campaign.

“The Bermudian star, who signed midway through last season, is desperate to quickly add to his seven-goal Huddersfield Town haul. Having netted 15 times for Bradford before his January switch for a club-record £1.3m, Wells claimed 22 in total.”

He chalked up 26 back in 2012-13, when Bradford reached the Capital One Cup final and won the League II play-offs.

And he wants to get close to that tally this term, saying: “I am looking at the 25 mark at least and I know I am capable.

“I got games (22 of them) and goals under my belt in the Championship last season.

“That is something for me to build on, and my aim is to stay healthy, continue learning and keep scoring.”

Wells was on target as Town beat Cypriot side AEL Limassol 3-1 behind closed doors at PPG Canalside last Saturday.

He and his teammates have just returned from their Portuguese training camp, having beaten SC Portimonense 4-1, with Town sending a side to Conference North club Guiseley on Monday night (7.45).

“Pre-season is going well,” added the man who is looking forward to forging frontline partnership with James Vaughan.

“We’re working hard, but it’s been enjoyable, and we all know the importance of this period.

“We’re getting fitter and sharper all the time, and everything is geared towards that big first Championship game.”
