Bermuda First FIFA License Player Agent

IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Football Association presented Andre Pacheco, Bermuda’s First FIFA License Player Agent. This is a historical moment for the BFA in that Andre has the right and the authority under FIFA regulations to represent any Bermuda player or player world-wide who seeks a professional playing career.

David Sabir the BFA General Secretary said, “You may be asking how Pacheco was able to achieve this distinction.”

“First Pacheco had to take the FIFA Player Agents Exam administered here in Bermuda on September 26th, 2013 by yours truly on behalf of the BFA. The exam consisted of 20 questions; of which 15 questions were provided directly from FIFA. These fifteen questions covered an array of topics concerning various aspects involving international football, in particular, those that related in some way to the status of players, whether professional or otherwise and the various rules and regulations governing players. For example, Regulations Governing the Application of the FIFA Statutes, Rules Governing the Procedures of the Players’ Status Committee and the Dispute Resolution Chamber, FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players including Training Compensation and the Categorisation of Clubs, FIFA Players’ Agents Regulations, Regulations Governing the Protection of Minors, International Match Calendar for September 2014 – July 2018 just to name a few as well as many other circulars and annexes distributed by FIFA,” continued Sabir.

Sabir went on to say, “The remaining five questions were provided by the BFA and involved only those matters pertaining to local rules and regulations of the BFA. Andre was provided with a study guide for both FIFA and BFA questions. Thereafter, Pacheco had to achieve a grade of 15 out of 20 questions or above in order to satisfy the examination requirement.”

“Next and as part of the criteria to become a licensed Player Agent, Andre had to sign the FIFA Code of Professional Conduct governing all FIFA License Player Agents and provide evidence of a world–wide liability insurance policy in the amount of US$1,000,000.00,” continued Sabir.

Sabir concluded, “As a result of the above, it gives me the great pleasure on behalf of the Bermuda Football Association the honor of presenting Andre with Bermuda’s first FIFA License Player Agent ID Card number BFA001 on Monday, May 12th, 2014 in the Office of the Bermuda Football Association.”
