Manders Scores in York Region Draw

It was a back and forth struggle between Taurean Manders and his York Region Shooters teammates and Brampton City United at the Joan of Arc ground in Maple where the visitors gained then lost the lead throughout the game.

Things got underway with a Brampton United goal in the 23rd minute when forward Milos Scepanovic beat York Region goalkeeper Camilo Benzi for a 1-0 score. Alex Braletic made it 2-0 for Brampton in the 37th minute, but the lead was cancelled out by goals from York Region forward Jason De Thomasis 38 minutes into the match, then Alex Trujillo scored in the 44th minute making it 2-2 before York Region’s Andre Rollins put the home side ahead 3-2 at the break.

York Region Shooters played the last 28 minutes shorthanded after referee Justin Tasev showed the red card to Andre Stewart for violent conduct.

Scepanovic scored his second goal and Brampton’s third to tie the game 3-3 in the 85th minute, then Brampton edged into the lead 4-3 on a goal by David Velastagui three minutes later. Manders leveled the scores at 4-4 shortly before the final whistle.
