Shelby Madeiros’ University of Siena Women's Tennis teammates opened their 2021 spring season on the road against the UConn Huskies.
The University of Siena would fall by a final score of 5-2 against the Big East opponent.
Madeiros was not part of the team as Siena won court two in doubles play with senior Nanea Perkins and sophomore Petra Miszczak. They would win their court by a final score of 6-4. However, Siena would fall in the other courts as UConn took the early 1-0 lead. Miszczak would earn a point for Siena in singles play, as she won at #3 singles by a final of 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7) in a bounce-back match. Siena would also get a point at #6 singles from Anastasia Koniaev, who fought back and won in a thrilling match by a final of 4-6, 6-2, 10-8.
