Daniel Phillips began competing in the Juan Fuster Zaragoza Boy’s Under 14 Tennis Tournament.
Playing in the Qualifying Draw, Phillips took to the court to take on Carles Cordoba from Spain.
Phillips advanced with a straight sets 7-6, 6-2.
Meanwhile the Wadadli Bowl COTECC Tennis Tournament in Antigua & Barbuda came to an end, it was a mixed day for the Bermuda players.
Trey Mallory took to the court for the Under 18 Boy’s Doubles Final, while Antonio Warner continued playing in the Under 14 Division.
Warner would do the double in the Under 14 Boy’s Division, he defeated Jaiden Julien from Antigua in the Final and then he teamed up with Vadeanand Resaul and they won the Doubles in straight sets.
Unfortunately Mallory and Ellis Short the number two seeds went down in a three set thriller to the number one seeds Stian Klaassen from the Netherlands and Maxime Mareschal Hay from Canada 6-4, 3-6, 10-4.
