Bermuda continue playing in the 2019 Davis Cup tournament in Costa Rica as they took on the US Virgin Island in the Americas Group III 9th to 10th Play-Off place match.
This was to be a battle to avoid relegation, as the losing team would drop down to Group IV next year, Bermuda defeated the United States Virgin Islands 2 - 1 to secure the ninth spot.
Bermuda took a 1 – 0 lead when Gavin Manders opponent Russell Armstrong retired down 5 – 0 after 23 minutes in the first set.
Neal Towlson then took to the court and defeated Tomas Del Olmo in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 in a match that took 1 hour and 3 minutes.
Youngsters Trey Mallory and Tariq Simons took to the court for the doubles, the pair went up against Nicholas Bass and Del Olmo. Mallory and Simons went down in straight sets 6-2, 7-6.
