The Bermuda Men’s National Football team are not the only team representing Bermuda in Costa Rica, the Bermuda Men’s Davis Cup team are in the country flying the flag.
www.islandstats.com visited the team as they trained at the Costa Rica Country Club in Escazu San Jose.
The Davis Cup gets underway on Monday and the team plan to lend their support for the Football team by attending the match.
Head coach Ricky Mallory said, “We went from being the oldest team in the tournament last year to being one of the youngest this year.
The Bermuda team will see Gavin Manders, Neal Towlson, Tariq Simons and Trey Mallory going to battle for Bermuda.
Being on the young side Simons said, “I am just hoping to be able to execute what I have been learning.”
Mallory said, “I have played in these condition before so I know what to expect with the ball movement.”
Manders said, “I am excited that we have some young blood in the team and what myself and Neal can offer them we will to ensure that they can give it their all.”
Towlson said, “I am feeling good the training is going well, the youngsters are putting in the work and I am hopeful that things will go well.”
