Recently 13 year old Daniel Phillips competed in the Caribbean and then returned to Bermuda to double up on tournaments on local soil.
Phillips’ coach Sam Maybury sat down with www.islandstats.com to discuss the youngsters Extraordinary Tennis Summer journey thus far, plus the challenges faced during the Caribbean trip.
Maybury expressed the difficulty of conventional fundraising for young outstanding athletes under 18
Phillips has spent time and will be returning to the Rafa Nadal Academy, he dominated three of four tournament during the recent COTECC Tour, upon his return to Bermuda Phillips won the MTM Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association Men’s B Title, he was also taking part in the Highland Spring Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association tournament where he won the Under 16 Boys Singles Title and the Under 18 Boys Singles Title.
