The Bermuda Treasures Free Tennis Programme, got underway at the Elbow Beach Tennis Courts.
David Lambert the organizer said, “This Program is now fully subscribed, however we will never turn anyone away.”
With Governor John Rankin and Sports Minister Zane DeSilva in attendance, the courts were full and lively. Lambert continued, “Of all the comments directed towards us today, the one that stands out the most was mentioned by a young lady in her seventy sixth year - I have always wanted to play tennis, but could never afford it, or was too busy.” The programme is supported by Lead Sponsor Paul Spring and Gatorade/Pepsi and Jim Butterfield of Butterfield & Vallis who is a Supporting Sponsor, all of our participants received fresh fruit, energy bars, healthy treats along with water and energy drinks.
Elbow Beach Bermuda continues to support Elbow Beach Tennis Programs.
This Event would be impossible with out the Coaches, Barbara and Jacklyn Lambert, Terry Smith, Jerome Bradshaw, Eldon Daniels, Earl Leader, Christopher Weeks and Walter Burgess.
Lambert concluded by saying, “This program will grow, our Treasures have already expressed an interest in January.”
