Day Four for Team Bermuda at the 2017 ITF/Central American & Caribbean Tennis Confederation (COTECC) 12 & Under Team Championships saw similar results in the Dominican Republic.
The Bermuda team consist of Jae Gibbons, Airez Gilbert-Simons, Mackai Whitter, Antonio Warner, Matthew Way, Asia-Leigh Hollis and coach Steve Bean.
The Bermuda Girls went down 3 – 0 to the Dominican 1 Team.
Gilbert-Simons went down in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 to Rocio Espinal, while Hollis was defeated by Abby Candelier 6-0, 6-0. The Bermuda Doubles team of Gilbert-Simmons and Gibbons lost to Rosario Elmudesi and Candelier 6-0, 6-0.
The Bermuda’s Boys fell 2-1 to the Dominican 2nd Team.
Warner lost to Alberto Puello in straight sets 6-1, 6-2, while Whitter went down in straight sets 7-6, 6-0 to David Guerrero.
Whitter and Way teamed up for the Doubles and they defeated Rubi Santana and Puello in straight sets 7-5, 6-3.
