Mixed Day Again for Mallory & Redmond
Trey Mallory and Scott Redmond were back in action in the JITIC Tournament (Junior International Tennis Championships for Central America and the Caribbean) continued in El Salvador.

Mallory upset the number 4 seed in the tournament Kevin Yarzagaray from Aruba 7-5, 6-1.

Coach Steve Bean said, “Bermuda's future is in very capable hands with youngster, Trey Mallory. His match today was a true indication of his willingness to listen to coaching and carry out instructions. Also he learns from each match and makes adjustments for next matches. He played at a very high level and sustained it throughout the match and was victorious over the # 4 seed in straight sets. Mallory produces powerful shots with the greatest of ease, handles pressure well and works hard during matches. He hits his strokes as well as anyone I've seen in the region. His move up to the next level is based on decision making and those lessons will continue to be learned as he competes against players with different styles and abilities. It's a pleasure to be a part of his development.”

Scott Redmond went down to Frederick Sydow from Aruba 6-1, 6-1

Bean said, “Redmond is learning a necessary lesson in tennis this week. A lesson that he needs to grasp in order to progress. The lesson here is that it is more about development than results. Now he is able to concentrate on improving and staying positive. Give your best effort and move on, is his motto this week. When he critiques his performances he has a sense of achievement because he views things from the correct perspective. I am pleased with his efforts and look forward to his continued progress.”
