The JITIC Tournament (Junior International Tennis Championships for Central America and the Caribbean) is underway in El Salvador.
Ricky Mallory Junior and Scott Redmond are representing Bermuda in the Under 16’s Boys Division.
Mallory finished Group IX in second place with a 1 & 1 record.
Mallory went down 2 - 1 to Rodrigo Crespo from Costa Rica, Mallory won the first set 6-4, but Crespo won the second set 6-, Mallory would then lose the third set 12-10.
Mallory would then defeat Zachary Du Boulay in straight sets 6-0, 6-1.
Redmond in his first appearance in the tournament finished Group XIV in second place.
Redmond went down in straight sets 6-0, 6-1 to Kobe James from Trinidad & Tobago.
He would bounce back and defeat Ruben Pinchas from Jamaica in straight sets 7-5, 6-2.
Both Redmond and Mallory are in action on Monday July 25th at 8:30am, Redmond is scheduled to face Patrick Sydow from Aruba and Mallory will face Alberto Gutierrez from Honduras.
