The Rhodes College Lynx opened play by capturing two of the three doubles matches and went on to defeat Alex Cooper and his University of Sewanee 6 - 3 in their Semi-Final matchup at the SCAC Men's Tennis Championships in North Little Rock, Ark.
The University of Sewanee will face Birmingham Southern College in the third place match.
Heading into singles play trailing 2-1, the University of Sewanee could only manage wins by Levi Joy at the #3 spot and Cooper at #4.
Cooper defeated John Alexander in three sets 6-4, 4-6, 10-7. Cooper then teamed up with Rand Jackson and they defeated Sanders Phelps and Alexander 8-5.
Meanwhile the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association have released the current Rankings for local Tennis.
Tyler Smith is Ranked Number One in Ladies Singles, with Jackie Lambert ranked Second and Cayla Cross ranked third.
Gavin Manders holds on to the number One spot in the Men’s Singles, with his doubles partner Jenson Bascome ranked Second and Na’im Azhar is ranked Third.
Lambert and her sister Tara Lambert are jointly ranked number One in the Ladies Doubles, with Ciara Svensen and Catherine Cooke jointly ranked Third.
