On Senior Day, Alex Cooper and his University of Sewanee Men’s Tennis teammates edged out Birmingham-Southern 5-4 to clinch the #3 seed in next weekend's SCAC championships. Lone senior and captain AC Cowan was honored prior to the match.
The University of Sewanee finish regular season play with a record of 12-6.
The SCAC Tennis Championships will be played April 27th – 29th in Little Rock, Ark.
University of Sewanee number two doubles team of Cooper and Rand Jackson trailed a service break at 3-6, but rallied to win the last five game of their match to win 8-6.
Cooper then playing in the number four Singles spot went down in a three set marathon to Christian Matthews. Cooper won the first set 6-4, before Matthews won the next two sets 6-4, 6-4.
