Two Bermudians On The Move

Two of Bermuda’s young and upcoming Junior Tennis players Zaire Simmons and Tyler Smith will be leaving for the summer with Bill Adams / Flynn Tennis Academy in Pembroke Pines, Florida

Simmons and Smith will be at the World famous Adams Flynn Tennis Academy in Weston, FL which gets the young ones ready for the World of Tennis.

Adams, a Guyanese by birth, has over 30 years of international coaching experience at the professional and amateur levels.

Adams has been director of the AdamsInternational Tennis Academy in East Allentown since 1997. He currently is training several top-ranked juniors. Prior to moving to Allentown, Adams directed an Academy in Boca Raton, Florida and in 1994 he worked with Venus and Serena Williams. He still serves as an occasional consultant to the sisters, who are both ranked among the top players in the world.

During the late 1980s, the multilingual Adams traveled as a coach to Italian star Paolo Cane, who was ranked as high as 22nd in the world and once defeated top-ranked Mats Wilander in Davis Cup competition.

Adams started teaching tennis in 1971 while a member of the Los Angeles Valley College team. He has also served as head pro, coach and academy director in Guyana, Germany, Arizona, Florida and Italy. He opened his first International Academy in Milan, Italy, in 1988.

Smith is currently ranked #1 in Central America & Caribbean, with the great work /help from Adams, so Simmons departed Bermuda heading to Nassau, Bahamas for another ITF Tournament.

Simmons has been accepted at The Sagemont School in Weston, Florida which will see her begin in September.
