Rawlins & Sussex Seconds Win by 7 Wickets
Delray Rawlins’ teammate Phil Salt hit a fine century as Sussex’s Second Eleven continued their good start to the 50-over Trophy campaign, with victory over Hampshire at Preston Nomads CC.

The 20 year-old batsman hit 123 from only 136 balls, opening the batting, as Sussex claimed back-to-back victories to follow the win over Essex.

After winning the toss and asking Hampshire to bat, the visitors made 288 for 9 from their 50 overs, with Joe Barrett hitting 109 for Sussex’s south coast rivals.

Tom Hampton was the pick of the bowlers for Sussex, claiming 3 for 51 from his ten overs whilst there were also wickets for Stuart Whittingham, Rawlins and Nick Oxley.

In reply, Salt shared partnerships of 82 with Angus Robson who scored 30 and 87 with Rawlins, who made 43. His final partnership was that of 62 with Alex Woodland, before the latter made 33 not out, as did Michael Burgess, to see Sussex home to a seven-wicket victory in the 47th over.
