Rawlins Out Early on Day Two

IslandStats.com
Chris Nash hit his first half-century of the new season on the second day of Sussex’s three-day friendly with Surrey at The 1st Central County Ground.

He made 59 before being caught and bowled by new Surrey recruit Scott Borthwick as Sussex made 120/3 from 30 overs in their second innings of the match, Laurie Evans (37) and Ollie Robinson (12) the two unbeaten batsmen at the close of play.

Delray Rawlins went early in the Sussex second inning when the score was 22.

Surrey resumed on 49 without loss this morning and batted for 60 overs of the day, following the 12 overs they had before bad light brought a premature end to proceedings last night.

Dominic Sibley (78 not out) top-scored whilst Borthwick (77) and Mark Stoneman (68) all made half-centuries, and they were ably supported by Rory Burns (47) and skipper Gareth Batty (40 not out).

The wickets for the Sussex attack were shared as Jofra Archer, Stuart Whittingham, Danny Briggs and Ajmal Shahzad all claimed an early scalp for the season, on a sunny but windy day at Hove.
