Bermuda's Men's National Cricket Team received recognition from the Government for their outstanding performance at the ICC T20 World Cup Americas Sub-Regional Qualifiers in Argentina last month.
Premier David Burt, joined by Minister of Tourism, Culture & Sport Owen Darrell and Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) President Lloyd Smith, hosted a special presentation to celebrate the team's achievements.
Each team member was presented with a certificate of appreciation, acknowledging their dedication and hard work during the tournament.
Premier Burt praised the team's success, stating: "This success is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and teamwork of everyone involved—the players, coaching staff, and the many supporters behind the scenes."
He also acknowledged the challenges ahead, with the North American Cup in April and the next round of qualifiers later this year. "We know the journey is far from over," Burt said. "With the North American Cup on the horizon in April and the next round of qualifiers later this year, we are excited to see what’s next as you continue this campaign to qualify for the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka."
This recognition from the government highlights the importance of cricket in Bermuda and the pride the nation takes in the team's accomplishments. The players will undoubtedly be motivated by this support as they continue their journey towards qualification for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
