Marcus Scotland and his Newport Cricket Club teammate defeated Cardiff Metropolitan University by 125 runs.
Newport won the toss and elected to bat, they would score 201/7 in their allotted 50 overs, Scotland opened the scoring with 16 off 36 balls, he hit 1 four.
In reply, Cardiff was 76/7 after 23 overs, and the match was reduced after heavy rains, Johnny Mills was the top scorer with 44, while Hasnain Nawaz was the pick of the Newport bowlers with figures of 6-4-10-3.
Scotland would hold onto two catches.
