The 2022 Bermuda Cricket Board season got underway at the White Hill Field with Somerset Bridge hosting the Bermuda Under 19 National team.
Batting first the Bermuda Under 19 team was bowled out for 130, Luke Fulton was the top scorer with 41, while Donnie Charles, Shawn Riley, and Kamron Mason all grabbed three wickets each.
In reply the Somerset Bridge scored 131/7, Donnie Charles scored the season's first half-century with a knock of 55, and Fulton was also the pick of the Bermuda Under 19 team bowlers returning figures of 6-0-17-3.
Delray Rawlins
After the first day was abandoned by the match umpires due to heavy rain, New Zealand won the toss and batted all day in the sunshine at The 1st Central County Ground, against Delray Rawlins and his Sussex teammates.
The visitors are preparing for a three-match test series against England in June and made the most of fantastic batting conditions to get some much-needed time in the middle.
New Zealand captain Tom Latham opened the batting alongside Will Young, with Latham making 65 before retiring not out, and Young 55. Hamish Rutherford came in at number 3, making 31 before being caught out in spectacular fashion by sub-fielder Mohammad Rizwan off the bowling of Delray Rawlins.
Rawlins’ persistence paid off again in the final session of the day, taking the wicket of Cam Fletcher finishing with figures of 17-2-63-2, as new Zealand ended the day o 342/3.
Kamau Leverock
Kamau Leverock and his Rode Park Cricket Club teammates made light work of the Elworth Cricket Club defeating them by 7 wickets.
Rode Park won the toss and sent Elworth Cricket Club to bat, were they were bowled out restricted to 162/8, with Leverock returning figures of 8-1-18-1.
In reply, Leverock scored 21 off 28 deliveries hitting 4 fours as Rode Park scored 1616/3 in 37.2 overs.
Cameron Jeffers & Amari Ebbin
Cameron Jeffers, Amari Ebbin, and their Cowbridge Cricket Club teammates went down to Ynystawe Cricket Club by 1 wicket.
Batting first Cowbridge scored 192/8, Ebbin scored 30 off 54 deliveries hitting 4 fours, with Jeffers adding 6.
In reply Ynystawe scored 193/9, Jeffers returned figures of 10-2-40-1, both Ebbin and Jeffers held onto a catch.
