A half century from Delray Rawlins was not enough to help Sussex Seconds defeat Somerset Seconds in their Second XI Trophy - South Group match at the Blackstone Academy Ground.
Batting first Sussex Seconds were bowled out for 280, Tom Haines was the top scorer with 110, while Rawlins added 51 off 60 deliveries hitting 5 fours and 1 six. Rawlins and Haines shared a 89 run 4th wickets partnership. JA Brooks was the pick of the Somerset bowlers with figures of 10-0-60-4.
In reply Somerset would score 281/7, Sam Davies was the top scorer with 55, IS Sohi was the pick of the Sussex bowlers with figures of 9-0-46-4. Rawlins did not bowl but he did hold onto a catch to dismiss former England Captain Marcus Trescothick.
