BSSF Middle School Boy's Super 8s Round Up

IslandStats.com
Dellwood Middle School won the Bermuda School Sports Federation’s Middle School Boy's Super 8s Tournament at the National Sports Center after defeating Sandy’s Secondary Middle school by three runs in the final.

Dellwood batted first in the final and scored 55 runs with Ahtayo Burgess leading the way with 22 runs. Diondre Dowling’s over helped to settle Dellwood’s run rate when he took 3 wickets for four runs. Sandy’s started their innings with a fast run rate but once Malano Williams was dismissed for 22 the wheels fell off and runs seemed hard to find.

Dellwood defeated Whitney Institute in their Semi-Final thanks to a flurry of 6’s in Tavez Smith’s unbeaten 32 runs. Dellwood had won the toss and sent Whitney to the crease. Burgess got Dellwood off to a great start by dismissing two Whitney batsmen with his first two deliveries in a maiden over. Razi Garland followed up with giving up just four runs in the second over. Whitney struggle to find consistent scoring before finishing with 48 runs in their allotted seven overs. Dellwood crossed the total with seven balls remaining in the match.

Sandy’s defeated T.N. Tatem in the other Semi-Final by 34 runs. Sandy’s were sent to bat and scored 64 runs with Williams again leading all scorers with 25 runs. Dowling again led the bowling attack for Sandys’ claiming three wickets for two runs in his over, Zakao Hart led Tatem with 15 of their 30 runs.
