Cricket West Indies (CWI) revealed on Thursday the schedule of matches for the Regional Super50 Festival which opens on January 30th and will be contested in Barbados and Antigua.
The six CWI Franchises and Combined Campuses & Colleges Marooners will be joined by English county sides Hampshire and Kent, as well as ICC Associate side, United States, for the Festival which concludes with the Grand Final on February 24th under the lights at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.
The surprise would be that Cricket West Indies has in the past helped in someway the Associates by having a Select team, however with the growing popularity of matches being played in Florida, it would appear that the favour of just having a team made up of Americans with paper work seems unreal for the rest of the Associates in the region.
At a time with West Indies Cricket struggling at the International Level themselves, one could only think they would want to help in everyway to assist the region in becoming better at a higher level.
