North Sydney won the toss and invited Sydney to bat, they scored 230/6 in their allotted 20 overs, A Mosca was the top scorer with 69 off 39 deliveries, he hit 6 fours and 4 sixes, R Felsch hit 6 fours and 5 sixes in his 29 ball 61 run stay at the wicket. B McClintock scored 34 not out off 10 balls that included 5 sixes, Rawlins looking to help push the score along was out without scoring.
But Rawlins did the damage with the ball as North Sydney were restricted to 168/9 in their 20 overs, Rawlins opened the bowling and picked up a wicket on the first ball, Rawlins would then pick up a wicket on the fourth ball to leave North Sydney at 0/2 at the end of the first over, Rawlins would pick up a third wicket to lead the bowling attack with figures of 4-1-35-3.
